Maybe, I just love the Bronze Age Batman too much and I love how Gilda is portrayed here but I thought the ending more than made up for it.

For me the story was more of an attempt to fill the blanks on what happened to Gilda and to tell a 'thrilling' and 'suspense filled' mystery but the author ends up ruining it with all the 'TWO' references. If that wasn't a flashing neon light for being a 'Two-Face' story, I don't know what is.

Frankly I would had a sub plot with Gilda attempting to build a life, a new guy comes into her life, we find out how her previous boyfriend 'Steve' was a cop who was killed by the mob, have a flashback to show someone killing one of Steve's killers, then have Batman hunting down who did it, reveal that he has been keeping in contact with Gilda for a while now both as Batman and Bruce Wayne, reveal that Gilda's boyfriend was the killer through flashback and finally reveal Two-Face as pretending to be her boyfriend but this time he's wearing make-up and prosthetic to hide his disfigurement. Batman eventually finds out and I wouldn't change anything that happened after that.
