i read another haruki murakami book and a nick hornby book this week. nick hornby's "how to be good" was ridiculous and strangely relevant. i marked a lot of pages. i might type a passage in here because i feel like everyone in the world should read it ( Read more... )

I read norweigan wood by murakami and I thought it was kind of boring. I had heard all this hype surrounding him that he was like the japanese salinger, but it just wasn't that interesting to me. Maybe I didn't read his best?

dudeeeeeee...norwegian wood is good in a non-murakami way. it's just not like any of the other murakami books, i think mainly because it's one of his much older ones? not sure. but check out another one like wind-up bird chronicle or hardboiled wonderland or seriously any other and you'll see the difference.
