aboruk_otiak Canon: Magic Kaito
(Volume 1, chapter 3)Point in Canon: After blowing up his creator's lab, but before reaching the target heist.
Age: Two Days 8| He was created 17.
Birthday: Someone will have to give him one.
Appearance: His skin was styled after Kaito, but on close inspection there's something off about him. A too-blank stare perhaps.
Abilities: As a robot he was designed to be tougher, stronger, and faster than a human. Of course, as an amateur robot he is only partly each of these. Only enough to make it count. His creator clearly went well overboard with the design, including but not limited to a literal hand gun, elbow guns, limbs that can stretch between building and be used like grappling hooks, rockets, boosters, and a face not even his mother could love. Of course I mean when it's broken apart to access other machines. He has most of Kaito's memories and can presumably do many of the same things he can if what little we saw is any indication.
Personality: For all he may look and sound like Kaito, Otiak acts nothing like him. He's an incomplete creation, since he killed his own creator before he could be finished, and as such as several serious flaws in his personality. the biggest of which being a broken or nonexistent moral compass. For him right and wrong just don't exist. His perception is such a pool of shades of gray that it's probably a miracle he managed to pass of as Kaito at all without immediately giving himself away. This leads to an inability to understand the concept of death. If a human dies he is 'broken' and needs to be repaired. Nor does he understand Kaito's motivations for being Kid. As a thief it is quickly apparent that he steals for the sole reason of 'because I can'. Not to mention this makes it very unlikely he'd ever return anything he takes. His flaws make him a very destructive personality. Without a care for life he will kill whoever gets in his way, which includes, as I mentioned before, the very man who created him.
If given the time an energy, I have no doubt he could learn. Some scientific type would probably have to play with his electronics a bit, but his potential for growth is immense. With his short lifespan, we're never given the chance to see if he could indeed learn to understand the value of life, or at least that certain things are wrong and not meant to be done. It is unknown whether his flaws are actual electronic issues or just that his AI wasn't given enough time to grow.
Strengths: He's a robot, herp derp. What strengths DOESN'T he have? No, I'm mostly joking. Otiak can take a massive amount of damage without breaking down. His one vulnerability is the circuitry in his head which, if damaged, will shut him down as if in death. This may also damage his memory if it happens. He has many various weapons built in his body, and the knowledge and willingness to use them. (I suggest disabling these, at least until he learns when to use them properly) His reaction time is also .04 times faster than Kaito's, who I imagine is pretty damn good thanks to his slight of hand skillz.
Weaknesses: His reaction time is .04 times faster than Kaito's which can lead to death in the right situation. He's also unintentionally arrogant because he does not understand humility. Both of these lead to him overestimating his abilities, and nearly believing he is invincible.
History: A long long time ago, in a series created decades back, a little boy had a dream. This dream persisted throughout elementary school, living on math notes in the form of doodles, and even took a small break in high school while the boy had a small stint on the student council committee. But the dream did not give up. It returned, with a vengeance!, when that boy entered college and saw a movie that reminded him of his math note doodles. And so he studied.
Finally that boy had become an older man, with the knowledge and ability to create his dream! And he worked for years and years to create the perfect robot with a brain to outdo all others. But when it was finally built to perfection it was missing one thing. A memory.
And so the man left his workshop on the lookout for the perfect memory. But no matter how hard he looked the people of Ekoda just weren't perfect. Then, one dark and rainy day (read: warm with a chance of cheery spring showers) a light shown at the end of his despair! A young healthy looking boy passed by, as if God himself had guided the scientist to be here at this second, walking with a spring in his step and a smile on his face. The scientist waste no time in talking to the boy and convincing him to join in his noble experiment for justice! (read: knocking the poor kid over the head and dragging him bodily back to the lab)
Before long the robot had a face, and a name, and a memory. He was Kuroba Kaito. He went to school, he was in love, and he had a dark secret. (read: mildly annoying secret) He was the feared (famed) Kaitou KID, scourge (not even close) of all the museums and private collections of all the world. (Half of Japan and one or two countries in Europe).
Of course, the man did not approve of his robot's new higher purpose, but 'Kaito' felt that he should be able to do whatever it was he wanted, having been created into those difficult teen years, and decided to run away from home (kill his creator and do what he wanted anyway).
He thanked the boy for his memories (tried to kill him too) and set off on his own to change the world. (steal ALL the things 8D)
First Person Sample: He did not understand that this is what I am supposed to do, so I broke him.
This other one doesn't understand either. He doesn't understand that I will always be the better one. It is only right that I take his life, because he would only waste it. He will waste his potential as the great Phantom Thief KID. Why does he look at me with such an expression when it is clear I will carry the name to it's highest point?
I must break him too. Break him and walk away from this place where my father tried to control me. I must make them both disappear. No one will stop me from doing what I was always meant to do.
After all, I am Kaitou KID. Nothing can stop me.
Third Person Sample:
The recently named Kaito hung up the phone, the police significantly forewarned of his upcoming heist. There was insufficient memory to understand what he was being told, but it didn't matter. He reset his face so he once more looked human and stared at his body double. The old Kaito. The broken Kaito. There was no more data that 'Kaito' could take from him, so he is no longer important.
After his last words, he set the lab to blow up and retreated quickly, convinced that he was Kuroba now. Assured of his victory, he laughed as the building enveloped in flames. He was far enough away from the lab by the time it blew that he didn't notice the real Kuroba escape just in time, or else he would have gone back and finished the job in order to prevent complications down the road.
The bot was far too full of himself right now to notice much of anything, actually, as he headed for the roof where he stashed his thief outfit after his heist the night before. In just under an hour the new phantom thief had a diamond to steal, and it was best if he didn't leave his dedicated audience waiting for a show.

Notes: I know that with only one chapter he doesn't have a lot behind him, even for an obscure character, but I'm sure that he has a lot of potential to be a really cool addition to the Manor.
Bonus: And blame Kinz for this one a million percent. B|
