I just want to thank you all SO much for responding to my questions. Not only is it generous for you to share your information and experiences, it's also pretty damn brave. Despite the statistics (35% of US women will have had an abortion by the time they reach 45 years old) our culture discourages conversations about abortion and reproductive health. Communities like this one are so important.

I have just a few more questions about home abortions/ self-abortions/ herbal abortions. They are as follows:

Where do you think most women find out about these alternative abortion techniques? Word of mouth? Internet?

Have you heard of women trying to induce miscarriages through non-herbal means? This could include the use of acupuncture, uterine massage, various forms of self-injury, etc.

Where do you think researchers should be looking in order to receive the most accurate information about home abortion/ self-abortion/ herbal abortion? Do you feel more comfortable discussing these topics over the internet (where there is a level of anonymity), or would you be equally comfortable holding these conversations in person?

How should the government/ medical professionals treat alternative abortion? Should it try to legislate against herbal abortion, etc? Should it offer herbal abortion in clinics and hospitals?

Once again, any information about alternative abortion-- including personal experiences-- is great. Thanks again so much :)
