So for some weird reason I enjoy finding out the prices of absolutely outrageous things that I neither want, nor could ever afford. (I.E. the update on the topic of the set of rims that cost over a million.)
I was just playing around on the computer when I decided to visit a site that I rather enjoy, Ebaumsworld.com. If you enjoy watching meaningless videos, and looking at crazy pictures of things that make you think to yourself either "whoa" or "what the fuck?" than this is a good website for you. So I was just bopping around that website... when I came across a series of pictures of the only seven star hotel in the world. It is located right on the beach in Dubai of the United Arab Emirates. It is called the Burj Al Arab I believe... but the bottom line is, this hotel is so damn unnecessarily flashy it would give a person with even the smallest case of epilepsy a life threatening seizure. So I did some research.
So I went on a bunch of hotel websites looking for this place, when I finally stumbled across it on hotelguide.com, and from there I found it's website. Now... according to Ebaumsworld, this place costs $75 American dollars to step through the gates and take a look around; so you could imagine how much it is to stay the night. Now... me being the curious cat I am... I wanted to know exactly how nice this place actually was, as well as how hefty the bill would be. So I decided to book a hotel room.
First of all... this place is nice... I mean very nice. The architecture was astounding. Over done and excessively flashy yes, but still impressive. They had everything from a normal 1 bedroom suit, to a presidential and royalty suit. It turns out that for a small fee of $3,188.00 you as well as one other person over the age of 18 can stay but one night in a simple one bedroom suit. Now that is just the check in rate... that doesn't count the parts and accessories... movies, meals, butlers... what have you.
Now... if you weren't wowed by the price... you will be at why it is so expensive. Every room is equipped with things such as a butler, a 42 inch plasma flat screen television, orthopedic pillows and beds... and what not; not to mention the over all building would take life times to pay for. Another thing... the thing is fucking a few hundred yards out into the ocean! (a very beautiful beach/ocean scene I might add) I could only imagine the property tax. (how ever that works in the UAE.)
