in "Windy Top"-- the ancient house on the island of Nantucket (off the coast of MA) that has been in my mom's family for years...complete with wooden, creaky floors, one bathroom, an outdoor shower, and no insulation. It's adorable, though, and I'm so happy here. Days have been filled with long walks with Jack, and intense games of hearts with Danny and Dad. Wonderful!
I can't believe I'm heading to Haverford in now 3 days. WHEW. I'm thinking right now about the froshlings... I sent this to Allyson earlier on aim:
"as i think back to TWO YEARS ago when we were about to embark on our college career...i think about all the froshies packing up their cars and going to sleep tonight with so much excitement with anticipation at the unknown steps they will take as they begin their college lives TOMORROW..."
And it's so true. I can't believe that:
a.) It was 2 YEARS AGO that we started college.
b.) That I'm not a customs person, so I'm just the older Junior who seems so detached from Froshies lives...
c.) That I'm going back this weekend and I'll actually be a junior...and 06'ers will be gone, and the place will be overrun with new blood.
Well, I'm ready. and I'm super super excited for the glory of Jones fourth and for everything!!! It'll be awesome. :)
For now, I'm just going to enjoy what's left of the summer...and savor this lovely time with my family before everything becomes crazy again!!! :)
