Obsession
I want to call everyone 'Chico.'
I don't know how this started but at lunch today it just hit me that I really like the name and there's really nothing safe from my applying it.
A cat fighting for a bug on the window screen, "His name is Chico the Cat."
"I want a beta fish. His name would be Chico."
"I want to adopt a Guatemalan baby and name him Chico."
Asks Nilei, "How will you differentiate all of the Chicos?"
"Like Dr. Seuss. Chico Uno, Chico Dos and so on."
But probably the worst offense was when the Bangladeshi cabbie was getting very friendly with me tonight and I asked him his name, "Zachar," he said, "well really Zacharia."
"Would it be okay if I called you Chico?"
He was sort of quiet for a moment, then smiled and said, "You could call me whatever you want."
I am on a mission to convert the Tom, Dicks and Harries of the world to Chicos!
