There's a restaurant in Venice that I've been wanting to try for a long time... E and I finally went to dinner there tonight. I heard about this restaurant a long time ago, but never looked it up. I actually thought it was a cafe until googling it. Turns out that it's a more fancy pants place. E and I had two appetizers and shared a main course. (We also had chocolate hazelnut gelato next door). I'm overly full now. My stomach is happy, but probably three appetizers (they were a pretty good size) or even one main and one appetizer would have been fine for both of us.
We had:
Seared Big Eyed Tuna with Seared Sonoma Foie Gras Rosti Potato, Caviar and Red Wine Herb Sauce (31)
-I really liked this. The tuna was just seared enough to give it a little crust, but the center was still very tender. I love foie gras (as un-PC as that is), but E thought it was too fatty. The caviar and wine sauce gave a nice textural change to the rest of the dish.
Lobster with Crispy Artichoke with Fingerling Potatoes in a Persimmon Sauce (18)
-mmmmmm... I love lobster and this one was sweet and smooth. There were no adornments to the lobster, but the fingerling potatoes were drizzled with the persimmon sauce. Nice and tart.
Pan Fried Dory with Varied Mushrooms with an Olive Cous Cous (18)
-E thinks the dory was too bland, but I thought the delicacy of the dory paired well with the sauce (I have no idea what the sauce was, but I really liked it). I was not a huge fan of the olive cous cous, but E really liked it. I thought it was a little too salty.
The bread was great... served with soft butter and an olive tampanade. Yum.

Pretty restaurant. Nice atmosphere. Attentive yet Unobtrusive waitstaff.
Overall, good, but more expensive than I would want to spend on a regular basis.
