I LIKE TO HIT METALLOPHONES AND SHOPLIFT/ROB GRAVES.
I had a dream the other night that I accidentally stole a knit sweater from a clothing store, one of those little boutique-esque shops. It was almost exactly the same as the one I have, it was white and turtle-necked and everything, except it had the image of a PATTERNED MEN'S TIE knitted into it, oh crap, it was the coolest thing ever. It doesn't sound very cool but it was the most amazing sweater. And I ended up not feeling guilty about nicking it...for some reason.
Oh, and I stole the sweater by 'accident' because I looked at it, was like, 'that's awesome', and left it in the shop but then about five minutes later the dream decided to put it in my hands again. So um...I don't know what happened there.
Now I really want that sweater.

So we're playing the coolest piece in Balinese gamelan at the moment. It's all irregular length phrases and a mixture of quiet, meditative and key-bashing goodness.
I suppose it wouldn't be the same if I weren't playing one of the more difficult parts, though - I 'promoted' myself a few weeks back...ehem...because I was getting bored. I need a challenge, definitely, both to prove to myself that I can do it and to improve my general instrumental ability, I think. It's...slipped.
Why didn't I choose something easier than the violin to play? *facepalms, curses 8-year-old self*
I'd really like to play a brass instrument! This is why I tried to smuggle away my Grandfather's trumpet when we were last in the UK (Grandfather is in Tenerife, trumpet is with my aunt in the UK. In a cupboard). I was stopped by my cousin, who got upset about it, apparently, and said no, the trumpet was his and it was promised to him. Even though in all honesty my grandfather seemed perfectly content with me making use of it. Ok, so it's his to leave in a cupboard for 8 more years then. It's not like I was going to um...use/treat it properly at all.
...I now have every single Beethoven symphony on my playlist. :D
And I could also have every single piano sonata if I wished. (See: deceased relatives, purloining their CDs)
*feels bad*
