The cake is a lie.

So, the Women's Group/Music School concert that I've been panicking about for the last AGE just rushed by, so I've spent the weekend pretty relaxed.

Anyway, I just wanted to take the opportunity to plug this:

LINK FOR FUTURE LIVE WEBCAST OF OUR SONIC ART WORKSHOP OMG

So this is exciting.

We'll be streaming out a low quality video/high quality audio webcast of the performances of our Sonic Art pieces we've been working on TOMORROW, that's 2:00 til 3:30 pm on Monday in New Zealand.

Everyone's piece is so indescribably cool, I think that the whole world should listen. No, actually that's an exaggeration. At least 500 people should.

So feel free to tune in.

...At the moment I'm scribbling out a sort of 'score' for me to follow when I'm diffusing in performance - meaning that I'm gonna be messing around with faders to move the sound around each of the 4 stereo pairs of speakers we're going to have set up.

I struggled with it this afternoon because I had trouble burning my CD using the school computers, because for some reason iTunes wouldn't open, then my track turned out to be silent, and I ended up deleting my iTunes library, and all sorts of insane things like that. But I eventually got it to work and spent a little while practising my diffusion.

Yeah, I know this shit is probably really dull and confusing to most people but I find the world of electroacoustic music so fucking cool. So much so that no matter how frustrated I get with technical problems and stuff I just want to battle on with it. Also I would find it incredibly sexy if someone told me that they just messed around with sounds and audio equipment all day, ergo Sonic Art makes me sexy. Somehow.

In more universally accessible/relevant to Sari-pudge's interests/girly news: OH MY LORD today I bought hosiery because I'm sick of only having black tights to wear with my skirts and also I got these amazing knee-high knitted cream socks which I can wear with my skirt and fluffy knitted white turtle-neck jumper too *CLOTHES-GASM*

So I'm happy.

Also Jaffas. Mmm Jaffas. Yesterday I went into New World because I was craving giant Jaffas (it's just a thing I have after being in the Chorale directed by Roger Stevenson for so many years...he used to get us to lift our palates by saying 'imagine you have a giant Jaffa in your mouth'. So now I always get giant Jaffas).

I ended up also buying some lemon and barley cordial to soothe Mum's throat and some Cup-A-Soups to leave in the food bank because I was ambushed by little old ladies at the door I was in an insanely good mood after finishing my Sonic Art project.

Yeah, I say/do nice things for people when I'm in any extreme of mood, I've found. When I'm unbelievably happy I complement or help out people generously and I also do it when I'm unbelievably upset.

I don't really understand myself.

I made a really really nommy cheesy/tomato-y/pesto-y pasta bake tonight with broccoli and pumpkin seeds in, but when I cooked the broccoli I managed to boil a caterpillar. That's the worst thing that happened to me today.

PS. Oh my god, PORTAL!
Ok, so at the moment (until the end of May, nearabouts) the PC/Mac game Portal is FREE TO DOWNLOAD (that is, if you also download the application required to run it as well, Steam). It's quite heavy (just over 2GB) but it is so much fun.
