Sadako walked sloppily along the road going to her house. The girls in her school had just told her that she had no chance with Takahashi Susumu-senpai and that he was better of with Tanaka Chizuku-chan, the popular girl in class.
She put a lot of thought to what her schoolmates said.
Susumu-kun would definitely want to go to Chizuku-chan; they were both popular and athletic; tall and smart. She, however, was petite for her age and had round eyes that would have looked prettier on her if only she framed her face by growing her dark hair.
Sadako hated the fact that she had an old woman’s name or that it was synonymous to the movie, The Ring. She hated the fact that she wasn’t good in Geometry or that she couldn’t dance to save her self. She could do her best all she wanted, but she still wouldn’t be excellent in something.
She sighed hard as she remembered what happened earlier that day.
Asuza and her snobby group of friends told her that she should just give Susumu-kun a box of chocolates, seeing as how he was too nice to reject any girl on Valentine’s day.
Coincidentally, she was walking along the street of the town’s top chocolate shop, Magasin Peu de Chocolat. Sadako sighed. Go in or not? After a few minutes of a mental debate, Sadako pulled her purple school bag tighter in her shoulder and took a step forward, as she felt someone pull her arm.
