I saw Death at a Funeral with a friend last night at
Springhaver. Oh my. How very funny! I haven't laughed that hard at a film since Little Miss Sunshine.
I had a nice talk with HR guy yesterday. He's really sweet. And since his sister and her partner are adopting, we swapped some stories of the process. Anyway, I am going to give 4 days a week a shot for a while starting 1 October. I think I will take Mondays off....
After my meeting a Jr. manager in my department who had been out during this whole mess called me into his office. He told me he had heard what happened and apologized over and over again. He said that HR and he had spoken to Boss about him getting more of a backbone..haha! He said I had every right to be annoyed but he didn't want me to leave. I told him about my new schedule and he gave me a hug. The past few days I was reminded of the handful of people (less than 10, more than 5) who are really, really kind and NORMAL (read: not mean). Not losing contact with them is worth giving this a shot. I am, however, still looking for a new job. Just being extra picky.
I have been very bummed out that we can't make our usual trip to the States in december because we are so tight with funds. I do go home quite a bit, but I really like being with my parents in december. Anyway, they are gifting Hans and me with tickets to their little winter house in Sarasota just after the 9th. We were going to go in november but apparently tickets for my parents to fly from their home in Massachusetts to Florida anytime around Thanksgiving is more than our tickets from Europe! The weather will be gogeous either way. So excited! We haven't been there yet. It's really sweet of my mum and dad. We could definately use a little vacation.
Now for today: No thinking about work!! This is the first weekend in ages we don't have plans and I am *thrilled*. Post office to mail a few things and then the yarn shop!!!! Yay!
