What can I do?

I feel like so many people have asked me that this year. What can I do? How can I help? I am so so blessed. But I am beginning to recognize that I am exposing the people of my world to the world of my students. A world where teachers quit, books are missing, and there is never enough. Especially when it comes to their school. I am really blessed that my church has stepped up. I no longer have to buy my own paper and can provide pencils to students who forgot (for the hundredth time) to bring one. I think that many people believe that whole village to raise a child thing, but not enough to you know.....get involved.

I recently found this website that I think is worth passing on. Many of you probably already know about Donors choose, where public school teachers put up projects they need funded and you get to pick which projects you want your money to support, then you get nifty cards from the kids and picture of them actually using the stuff YOU bought them. I filled out two today and am excited for the cool stuff I might get. (I hope I hope I hope) Anyway, this is how you can help. The teachers who want to use this site are the teachers who care. Just filling out the form is going the extra mile for their kids. And if you are interested I will be sure to keep you updated on when my entries are posted.
