So... I'm sorry you have to go through this. I really can't stand it when people try to make homosexuality seem like something people choose or are influenced on. Like some switch in your brain can determine what you decide to be attracted to. ffff.
I really hope you can stand up to her. You really need to at this point and have the grounds for it, obviously. I mean... I know it's difficult with her avoiding the thing by being so offhanded, but that's just another tactic of someone who's scared. Like you said, it's a phobia. And obviously she treats it in a manner so that she doesn't have to face right up front.
Continue the false formailities, yes. Because that'll show that you can still smile despite her tantrums. But be honest about how you feel when you confront her. Hell, send her cards for more occasions. She won't know what to do with the situation of you sending them, especially if you stand up to her. If anything, it'll eventually make her lash out at you, giving you more incentive to show her to be the antagonist in all of this.
