Her instrument is amazing enough as it is, but watch until the end. The goose bump inducing experience is enough to catapult even the most hardened heart into a place of softness and breath, but notice Kristen's Tempo as the song finishes. She tesserracts into a hyperspeed that is instantaneous and completely spontaneous. It shocks and surprises both of them. This isn't merely a performer thanking another performer for being on stage, this is pure gratefulness of being in the presence of something magical.
Anyone could have taken that mike that night. Anyone could have sung the duet but it happened to have been Sarah Horn; a voice teacher who loves Broadway and who spends her life receiving music from her students and giving what she can, when she can. It happened to have been her. And as the song ends, Kristen is compelled toward her heart. As if her core was attached by a rope and someone back stage suddenly gave it a good, swift tug, she is flung forward and into Sarah's waiting arms. It is the culmination of a miraculous event, and one which was shared and received by those lucky enough to have been in the audience that night.
Gifts are rare between two genuine people, and receiving them without ego or regret is even more so. This is a moment in time shared by two spirits who by chance were thrown together in a moment of reverie and the inexpiable.
