I went through the Krispy Kreme (shh) drive-through the other day and they had a sign on their menu board that said:

New Year's Resolution? No Problem! Original Glazed, only 200 calories!

Doughnuts as diet food. Who knew?

The sad thing is, I'm sure there are people falling for it! At least it's something you only see when you're already in the drive-through line. I mean, you're already commited to getting a doughnut, maybe that will encourage some to get one with fewer calories.

Or not, I got creme-filled chocolate glazed. ;)

Only 200 calories! I'd fall for it! I mean, really that's only 2 of the 'low cal' (100 calorie) snack bags at the store!

True, but it's like 200% of the calories from fat! ;) I guess my theory is that if you're going to eat a doughnut, eat the one you want. If you're going to diet, eat fruit or veggies for snack instead.

Oh I agree that it's not healthy by any means! Neither is eating the entire box of low calorie snacks :) It makes me laught that by putting the word "ONLY" in front of it they think they are fooling people into thinking that 200 isn't a lot!

I also agree that if you are going to splurge, just go ahead and do it right!

But 200 calories doesn't even sound that low to me. Say someone is on a 1200 calorie per day diet. That's one sixth of their total caloric intake for one tiny snack! Plus, who eats only one Krispy Kreme glazed donut?? :9
