Filtered to the Littletons and Stuart

Oh, Spectre, has Mara really never had a birthday present?! That fucking fuck. I suppose, as far as the things he did go, that is...fairly mild. But what about the social stigma?! All of the other kids at school would be talking about their presents and she wouldn't be able to say a word. I can't even imagine it. Though...I suppose you don't ( Read more... )

Unfortunately, it's quite true. Samson certainly didn't believe in celebrating birthdays. They weren't religious festivals, after all. Not that we would have gotten presents for those, either. They would have distracted us from the religiosity. Parties are good, though! You know I love a good party. We'll make it all up to Mara now.

Mums is such a sensational woman. I love her so much. She's truly an example to us all. I am glad you won't be doing the ramen thing, however. I'd have a fit if you did!

Augh. Augh augh augh. I'm so glad we get a chance to make it up to her. And you. I think that's long overdue. I just hate that I keep finding out new things. Mostly because this shite would never occur to me.

Is it wrong that I want to open the door of your father's room and shout, "YOUR SON IS MARRYING A MAN!" and possibly do a little 'we win' dance?! I mean, I won't because he's a cock. But I really want to.

I love her so much too. I want to be the kind of mum she is. Without the ramen thing. Because we can't have a you throwing fits, now can we!?

Abby, I feel like you've already made it up to me and more. My life now is incredible. I have the best family I could ever have imagined, a career I love, friends who give me endless love and support... the bottom line is, with the help of my friends and family, I won. Mara and I have both defeated that which was raised against us. The Littleton family has triumphed over hatefulness, which is just as it should be.

As for the victory dance, it's oh so tempting, Abby. Oh so tempting.

I think you're very much the kind of mum our Mums is. I see her in you every day. You're amazing, and a testament to her wonderful nature.

But I can still give you birthday presents, right!? I want to shower you with love and affection!! Okay, I know I already do. I'm overcompensating. But I am so glad you're happy. And that you won. I am always glad to triumph over hatefulness.

I know! I have to stop myself at work every day.

Thank you!!

That poor girl. I can't believe what some parents do in the guise of...whatever that was in the guise of. It's such a simple thing, but the damage is so severe. And certainly most of what that horrid man did was not simple. I hate that fathers like him exist. Just as I hate that fathers like ours exist.

You have done wonders for Mara. You and Spectre and Stuart. She's a happy girl. And yeah, she's been through hell. But after all of that, she can smile. And that's a testament to you. Trust me, I'm talking from experience.

Luckily, fathers like you exist and restore confidence in men again.

I do trust you, Joe. Always. And thank you. That's exactly what I needed to hear.
