Here are the boys on Dan's birthday - 3rd Sept. - 8 years old.
It has been a hard few months.
I have been having odd dreams about my mum and dealing with a lot of guilt - not made better by the fact my ex brother in law told me the family thought the dress I wore to the funeral was "inappropriate" as it was too colourful! Grrrrr. I spent ages choosing a dress, was very concerned that the boys would be deeply upset and traumatised by the whole experience, and I feel that funerals are supposed to be a celebration of the person's life, so I chose a pretty dress so that the boys who never see me in black wouldn't be freaked out and I spent ll day being chirpy and trying to be "normal" for them - so my family think it is "inappropriate" - fuckers!
Oh well, I hope I am getting better - my birthday was hard - I didn't expect it to be as we never made that much of a fuss about birthdays anyway, but it really hurt that mum couldn't sing to me - she always did - even down the phone.
Other news- umm - cats are still mad, seem to have learned to leave their kills outside!
We had a lovely weekend with Nolley and Diane last weekend - even though Diane was ill - she is absolutely lovely :)
Work is pretty much the same- supposed to be a BBQ tomorrow at one of the consultants gardens - hope we are not washed away!
Boys had a good summer - even with the dodgy weather :) But they are happy back at school too.
Growing more (as you can see) and fighting like brothers should!
Sherlock has started some new shifts, doing 3 x 12 hour shifts per week - so getting rostered days off for the first time ever!
So far so good, but we are both full of cold, so it is hard to tell so far!
Better go - Dan wants to do his homework reading! Shock horror!
