:O OMG WE COMMENTED EACH OTHER AT THE SAME TIME

I AM SO GLAD YOU AGREE ON BOTH COUNTS, MOSTLY BECAUSE I DON'T FEEL STUPID ANYMORE FOR THE SECOND ONE

Two celebs I can't separate are James Coburn and Lee Marvin.

Also, when I was young, the names Cary Grant and Clark Gable sounded the same to me. When I heard one name, I thought that was "the name" and forgot the other one. (although this response may not count because these are actors I hadn't yet seen in movies)

Now that I have seen them, there's a clear distinction between them: Gable to me has a bit of a swaggering, affected cockiness, whereas Grant is more effortlessly urbane, charming and sophisticated. (and If that impression reveals a noticable preference on my part, so be it.)

Did you ever see my Cary Grant icon? It appears to have vanished when my account lapsed. Too bad, 'cause the LJ-user I got it from no longer has it.

Grant was the ultimate. I like how he could be both a handsome leading man AND a skilled physical - even slapstick - comedian, sometimes in the same movie.

Madonna. Shakira. Stephen King.

I know..I know..obvious..but that's my answer. :)

DUDE. I have the same issue with Orson Welles, HG Wells, and George Orwell.

When I was a kid..Lynyrd Skynyrd and Led Zeppelin were the same to me. Not the music. Just..the names were similar in my mind..most likely due in part to my hearing problem..but also 'cause they were almost always played back to back on the radio. Weird.

I get all of the southern rock bands confused. In my head, certain songs ('Song of the South' is one) are attributed to all of them.

Ohhhhh I am totally the same with Orson Welles and George Orwell. OMG. I have others like that, trying to remember now... Emily Watson and Samantha Morton a bit. There are others, but... meanwhile, Paul McCartney can do anything, I will not stop worshipping him, ever. I think some of his albums in the '80s are scandalous enough. Some would also say '70s, but I genuinely think all of those are wonderful. Oh, and Stephen Fry, even though I don't see him doing anything foolish. I am likely to want to punch anyone who collaborates with Timbaland. It was acceptable to a point BUT THERE ARE OTHER PRODUCERS OUT THERE JESUS SO BORING
Can't remember any others now. I'll probably have a lightbulb moment in the middle of my Philosophy exam, on the toilet, whatever, and I'll come running back here and commenting in capslock, because I find these things so exciting.

I should have named Robert Plant for the same reason. He crossed my mind and I thought 'no, what has he done wrong?' When you like his solo work you forget how questionable it can be. :(
