(no subject)
I tried to post around 12:30 am, but LJ was down "for scheduled matainance". Blah.
I was awakened tonight by my mom coming in, and telling me that my friend Breanna had called, and I needed to call her back. Before I could, I got an International call from my friend Kristen. She told me she had some really bad news. My friend Jon-Eric (Breanna's older brother) was in an accident Saturday morning (Taiwan time) and died on the way to the hospital.
I was in complete shock, but called Breanna, to get more of the story. Truth be told, she didn't know much more than I did. A policeman came to their door at 11:30 tonight (their time) but couldn't really tell them anything. As I was hearing everything, it was like a bad dream. I met Jon-Eric two years ago in Dallas, and saw him again when I was in Taiwan last year. There had been talk of me trying to go to AR to visit several friends this fall, including him.
Now I'm trying to figure out if I can make it to the funeral, or at least get out there to be with Breanna. Please be praying for the Hope family, this is a big shock. It's a huge shock to me as well. I couldn't cry when I first heard because it seemed like a bad nightmare. I've never lost a friend like this before. Just this week I was helping him plan a surprise for his family when he came home from Taiwan in August. Now, he's coming home tomorrow in a box.
