so yesterday was my mom's cousin's son's wedding in south bend. It was a lot of fun despite my family teasing me about being single and making sure i picked out a guy from the bride's side of the family. At the reception we sat with one of my mom's other cousins sons and his wife. They live in LA where he's a cameraman and she's a writer for hire. it was awesome cus we got to talk about the business and She was expecially nice in explaining that LA's not as scary as it sounds and there IS work, and as long as you can temp or waitress you won't go broke. She used to be an actor and has a lot of actor friends so she gave be a lot of helpful advice and calmed down my parents who like to worry a lot and think i'll never go anywhere or have a real job or a future or anything. But she also brought up the issue i've been struggling with since my second acting class sophomore year. How do i sell myself and what do i sell myself as? its difficult because the way i see it, i'm not quite a leading lady, but i'm not exactly a character actor either. basically what that means is that i'm not a picture perfect bombshell but i'm also not particularly weird looking. and i definetly would rather be a character actor that a lead role becuase A) character parts are more interesting and B) it takes a lot of work to look good and stay looking good and as soo as someone younger and hotter comes along youre done. so this might be hard becuase you guys are my friends and know my personality and all that, but thats also why i'm asking you to do this because i believe you will give me an honest opinion. so, what i'm asking, is for you guys to typecast me. Just tell me, based on my appearance, what kind of roles you see me in, and what sort of part i look like. i really appreciate it guys.
