sloth on a stick: a halloween special

I finally got hold of Holy Black's 3rd book, Ironside, and it didn't disappoint. I didn't get any sleep last night because I just had to read it cover-to-cover. There were these moments between characters that you just gotta love. There is maturity and growth in all of  her dysfunctional characters. Holly Black makes kitschy (or should I dare say trashy?) subjects look and feel natural, human, and forgivable, if not altogether good--this last making her stories all the more believable and at the same time entertaining.

In other news, I finally found time to reacquaint myself with the Final Fantasy series, FFX International to be more specific. Blitzball is driving me crazy (and not necessarily in the *ahem* "right" *ahem* way) but I had developed a craving for its FMVs the other night and Auron is a god I am willing to drool on publicly.

What else is in my itinerary this week? Well, watching DVDs, I guess. I want to keep my life this holiday sloth-like if possible, after spending the first two precious weeks of sembreak out of the casa and literally getting my skin fried. (Argh! I'm so stupid for not caring about trivial things like sunblock! Never again!) I've seen too much excitement and I really, really need some wind-down alone time; a responsibility-free period to recharge my brain for the upcoming sem. Otherwise, I might find myself in the looney bin before the year ends.
