20 songs that are associated with feelings or memories that have greatly impacted my life, and what those feelings or memories are. (stolen from Sarah)
1. Soco Amaretto Lime- Brand New-sleepy car ride on the way back from Detroit after a show. Grace in the front seat, Farrah and I in back, and DVD in passenger seat. He was singing along, and we were driving on the highway. To my right, the most beautiful, transfixing Aurora Borealis lit up the sky and I felt alive and free.
2. You Are So Beautiul-Joe Cocker-the song I secretly adore and always have adored. From my mom singing it to me when I was little, to me wishing someone else would someday too.
3. Too Much Space- Lisa Germano- A song that struck me on my iPod and made me cry. It reminded me of the heartache I was going through.
4. Hallelujah-as sung by a member of the Michigan Friar's Club-this song made me fall in love with him! (Not really, but just a little) He was such an amazing singer.
5. Anything Dashboard Confessional-Reminds me of Farrah and all of the concerts we've been to in our youth. How crazy we can be together, and how good it feels to be young and free.
6. When We Are Cats-John Ralston- the song I played until I memorized. Actually the whole album. It's what I hope for everyone who falls in love. This is my senior year of high school, driving between East and West every day, singing in my car.
7. Gotta Have You - The Weepies - Therapy for a saddened heart. This one also hit me on my iPod while walking to class/riding the bus.
8.Only Wanna Be With You - Hootie and the Blowfish -My sister, when we were kids. She'd sing this really loud in the car to me, and it was only kind of annoying. :P
9. Somedays - Regina Spektor - The song that defined the days when I droned and got by this past year.
10. Love Song, 2:00 am- Jackie Greene- The song I couldn't listen to this winter because it reminded me of someone , but now I'm listening to it again for the same reason.
11. Messenger Bird's Song- Bright Eyes- through by massive Bright Eyes stint. My junior year in summation. This song was a look at the twisting and pulling of a relationship, and trying to make it simple. This song stands for all the others from that stint too.
12. Summer in the City- Regina Spektor - When I miss him.
13. Samson- Regina Spektor- If not all of her songs...this is for when I miss him some more.
14. You Make Me- Blumfeld- Ein gute traurige deutsche Lied. Ich hörte es in meinem Auto zu, und ich sang jedes Wort. Sehr schön und traurig.
15. I Do-Dashboard Confessional- I know I already mentioned everything Dashboard in general, but this is a song like When We Are Cats, where I hope everyone in love gets to feel this way. And have someone feel this about you.
16. Who Will Save Your Soul- Jewel- My mom listened to jewel a lot when we were younger, and we would sing with her.
17. Sweet Dreams- The Eurythmics - Hell yes. That's all I need to say really. This is a classic. I would sing this with my mom in my childhood.
18. You Oughta Know- Alanis Morissette - Car rides with my mom when I was little. She'd turn the volume down at the swears. :)
19. Baby Beluga- Raffi- Who didn't love Raffi as a kid? Baby Beluga was my favorite song. I'd sing it and I loved Belugas.
20. Golden Slumber-by somebody-My mom would sing this lullaby every night and I'd cry almost every time. I was a sensitive kid, okay? haha
