Thanks, kath! I think we'll see more of their unhappiness in the next part. I wanted this Kara to react to L/D sort of the way Kara does in LDYB2, but as you say, of course the laughter covers up her true feelings. There is something else, too, about how Kara never thought Lee would choose a military woman for his girlfriend - keep in mind Kara puts herself in that category - I will try to bring this out more in the next part too.

ick! More unhappiness? *steels herself* It sux that they torture each other so, but then again, it won't be *them* if they didn't.

It is kind of strange how Kara reacts to Dee in the show too. It's the first time she's said anything and I wonder if it's a reflection of how she really feels (that Lee isn't serious about Dee) or it's just her fear talking? Hm...

I love how you've made Kara an artist. You've taken canon and turned it into another believable possibility. It also is a great way to explain Kara's elegant, sexy new style without detracting from the Starbuck we know that is still lurking beneath. And of course Lee's totally fixated on staring at her body which is the Lee Adama we all know and love :0)

I also really love the way you had Kara express all of her grief (and guilt?) through her art and how selling the pieces was a catharsis for her. Hopefully it worked and Zak won't be a barrier.

I love how this ends with them on the phone to their lovers and how Lee was trying to overhear Kara's conversation while holding his own. I'm sure Kara was doing the same thing :)

I love the mood and richness of this story, and the little surprises you keep popping in about their lives. I'm completely hooked and can't wait for the next part :)

Aw, that was wonderful. An dI really liked the ending, what a way to remind them that, yeah they are both with other people.

Now I just love the whole Kara as an artist thing. You wrote that very nicely, but she is still really starbuck underneath there.

I can't wait for more. :)
