TV induced delirium...

I was watching Family Man with my mom (and really missing the hell out of my TiVo). It's a feel good movie about Nicolas Cage's character being some fancy executive who finds himself in an alternate reality that gives him a glimpse of what life would have been like if he had married his ex. He, of course, has no memory of living this alternate reality and hilarity ensues as he doesn't "remember" events of his family life and tire retail. It even includes a scene at the end, back in his original reality, where he chases down his true love at the airport and convinces her to stay behind with a speech of all the things they had together in another reality where he sold tires. It's bad. (Or maybe I'm just jealous that I haven't woken up in an alternate reality yet where Téa Leoni is my wife.)

So anyway, this movie got me thinking... If he took over the life of his alternate with no memory, who took over his own life while he was gone? Then when he left the alternate reality, did his original self from that reality wonder who was messing with his life over there? I'm picturing a whole nother series of movies complimentary to the genre where some guy is going along then suddenly wonders about long gaps in his memory and who was messing with his life masquerading as himself. (Or maybe this is what that Talking Heads' song is all about?)

Sorry. I don't know where I'm going with all this.

Live TV sucks. (Yes I could turn it off, but my parents would consider it rude considering they are the ones watching it.)

And if I have to hear one more commercial about performance fleece, I will kill someone. Hey... I'll blame it on my "alternate".
