Just got back
I took the kiddo on a trip back to the state where she had been abused. This was very scarey for her and I wasn't sure that we would go in the end. But she has good memories from down there at her grandmother's house where we stayed. (she was abused by her father and his friends- this was her maternal grandmother's house and there are no abuse issues there) She also was excited to go to a show in Branson. Anyway, she worked up enough courage to go and we did.
It was a pretty darn good trip. The last time we went all of her littles went underground and I did not hear from them again for months. This time they all stayed around although there was a lot of switching and some lost time. She also was really remembering things that she doesn't feel ready to share. I think that part of the trip was pretty awful. but I got a lot of spontaneous hugs and she told me that thought it would be so scarey and it wasn't. We had a good time at the show and good times just out bumming around. She did get worried when we drove places at night but I was able to talk her through that. There was even a full moon and she coped.
So all in all it was really successful and good for her.
