Easter Weekend

Apr 10, 2007 09:59

Hello everyone!

Well I haven't written for a while, but not much has been happening either because we're saving madly for our Europe trip so can't really afford to do much. My days pretty much consist of work-exercise-eat-sleep.

The Easter weekend went really well. I had to work Saturday, but had Fri/Sun/Mon/today off so I can't really complain! On Friday morning Sef and I ran 10k around the bridges which was fun, and then I had Good Friday mass. On Saturday I worked as I've already mentioned, and it was a very quiet day as I think everyone had gone away for the weekend to celebrate the last little bit of good weather. On Sat night we had the engagement party of our good friends Rob and Julia which was a lot of fun, caught up with some people I hadn't seen in ages! Also, I had good intentions of leaving at 10am but didn't leave until 2am and a bottle of wine later ... then I had to get up at 5.30am to make the dawn church service I always go to on Easter Sunday ... man it wasn't pretty! I took some veterinary nausea medication but barely made it through mass. We all went back to mum's for traditional Polish Easter Sunday breakfast but I just went to bed!!! In the afternoon we had my Babcia's 80th birthday, I had recovered enough by that time to be able to make it through the afternoon :) Stay tuned for photos, I am waiting on an email delivery. We had an early night that night! Then Monday morning Sef and I got up early and did a 60k bike ride from the Narrows to Thomas Rd and back. There was a headwind on the way down so it was hard going, but then when we turned home with the wind behind us we just flew along. Its a nice ride because its along the fwy, and with the exception of having to cross 1 road, its basically just non stop well maintained pathway. Definitiely one I'll be doing again.

Work is going well, we've got another new vet starting who is apparently a new grad. Tammy is leaving end of April to have her baby, I'm leaving end of May for my holiday. Judi our lovely practice manager is leaving in the next 1-2 months as well to pursue her human nursing career. So I don't know what its going to be like when I get back from Europe, we'll see! Hopefully everything will turn out.

I am still training with Wellbeings. I have set a goal to swim X 2, run X 2-3 and cycle X 1 per week. I'll do this until we go away to Europe. I have a grand plan of maintaining my fitness in Europe by running regularly but we'll see! I want to run the City to Surf this year so it would be silly to let all the hard work go to waste! Triathlon season is over and I'm kinda glad, I'm over racing for the minute. Sef & I did the Bridges fun run a few weeks back and now I am aiming for the 10km Women's Classic in mid-May. For some reason running races don't stress me out like triathlons do.

I saw that movie 300 over the weekend. It was OK. Sef wanted to see it and I just tagged along. The plot was pretentious but almost every scene contained really buff men with 6-packs, wearing little panties and not much else so I can't complain really! I think its going to become a gay cult classic. Oh and David Wenham is hot. Last night Sef and I took out The Prestiege on video. I figured out the twist with Christian Bale's character about 1/2 way through the movie and I thought that the thing with Tesla's machine was crap because it would have been a good movie had they just stuck to things that were real. But I'm just being smug & picky :) Hugh Jackman takes his shirt off so its not all bad. Gee its not difficult to please me is it??? :)

Today I have a day off before working 4 days in a row. My friend Neeta from Kal has moved back to Perth and we're going to do lunch and have a gossip. Looking fwd to it!

Until next time
