A little more on Victoria, and also yay: bitchinparty.
I am horrible at updating. Victoria's been awesome. I still have a lot to do to settle in, and I'm slow at making friends to hang out with, but I have a steady job and a few friends to hang out with.
Actually, an awesome story: I was walking around downtown a couple of months ago, and ran into someone I used to work with. She'd left two years ago, and spent most of it travelling the world, and happened to move to Victoria at about the same time as I did. So we're both trying to make friends, plus this is someone who I had started to hang out with socially, so I have a built-in person I already like :D
Of course, then there's weekends like this one, where every single person I know socially is taking advantage of the long weekend and has gone out of town. I found out that the symphony sells $13 tickets from the seats left a week before a performance, and I am going to have to go alone.
And then again, there are weeks like this one, where pennyplainknits posts about how she's going to bitchinparty, I tell aphelant that I'm tempted (Seattle is a 3-hour ferry ride away) and so she should go too, and then then we possibly ended up peer pressuring
were_duck into coming as well. (If she doesn't go, none of us will eat all weekend, it's a sad sad fate.) And so in the meantime, I'm going to have to make new online friends :D
