A new era

As I've been saying to everyone...this has been the best time I've had in Duluth since I graduated! People are just so much more interesting now...or maybe, just more mature. And...it's the first time I went out drinking in Duluth, with high school people. So much fun! Bar-hopping in Duluth's fine drinking establishments (all six of them...sigh)...but DAMN are drinks CHEAP! So fucking cheap. If I were forced to move back here, I'd be an alcoholic. Seriously...$1.50 beers ($2.50 for a good one)...$5 cocktails??? AND, because I no longer have a car, I've been bumming rides off people, and as such, have been able to drink to my heart's content. More than once I was told to finish off pitchers because everyone else had to drive home. Ha. But yeah, hanging out with people I didn't even really talk to in high school and people I didn't like so much back then actually being more regular than I remember them being. Then there was getting to see teachers from high school, which I always enjoy (and people seem not to understand). Mr. A showed off his new auditorium, Dr. Haire waxed nostalgic about that one time freshman year a whole bunch of us got in trouble for skipping assembly, and Mike (I really can't call him Mr. C anymore) gave me his number and said we should go out drinking sometime. Anyway, it's definitely been an excellent, socially productive and relaxing trip to Duluth. I even got to use walking as a mode of transportation, tried out Duluth's new sushi restaurant (pretty good, for what it is), ended my dry spell, learned to play darts and kicked people's collective asses, finally watched Happy Feet, managed to do some work, taught Ashley how to play hearts, passed out on my father's couch with no memory of how I got there and even got caught up on TheBurg episodes. Does make me want to keep in better touch with people and maybe go visit them in their respective cities. Anyway, hurrah for good times and all the fun people I got to see in Duluth :)
