Wow. I really am left pretty much speechless after reading this. It's beautifully written and leaves so much for you to think about.
I think what I liked most was the theme here, the undercurrent of something so much bigger than us y'know. It's true poverty exists and is a problem, but it can't be fixed by fistfuls of money. Hard work is the key and I love how you show Harry's reaction to what happens as he continues to try and give away the money. He doesn't seem to realise that by doing what he was he wasn't really helping but rather providing something that the people themselves should earn.
The dynamics of the H/D really had me. Being forced to live with each other is one thing, but then coming to care about each other too. Draco in particular struck me as having given up, he had no freedom and the part where he wanted to go to Goyles Kissing just killed me. That Harry had the power to deny something so important showed just how hard it must be for them.
Overall this was such a haunting piece. The issue of Harry trying to deal with his loss and trying to make up for what he'd been forced to do was so real. The powerful descriptions and the way you showed the native life was captivating in its honesty. I've seen this for myself and I truly think you did the theme justice.
Sorry if the review was kind of babbly, it's 5am and I really should be asleep.

Thank you so much for such in-depth feedback! And I feel honored that you think I've done the people of Africa justice, having been there yourself. I admit that that was one of my biggest fears going into this.
And feel free to babble here any time. That's really all that ever goes on in my life. :D

Oh no problem, I hope it isn't a bother though. Ah, I haven't been to Africa, sorry I meant I'e seen the suffering elsewhere (namely India), I should have been more clear.
Sure, why not? After all incoherent semi coma babbles are love :D
