Fucking fantasic. Original, and unwilling to hide any of the ugliness, the painful truths that we as writers, readers, characters, etc try to hide, ignore, dispute. Gorgeous. I have to run into a meeting, but I'll try to provide more detail in a bit.

i'm only on the first few paragraphs but i wnted to say that you handle your phrase description with control. that ability, is rare. i have rarely read decription thaat managed to use the details to describe, and be action at the same time.

i muddling this- but your descriptions have more than ornamental purpose- the prose would be less without them, so no words are wasted- you link the details you produce. It's a spider's web in a way- in that you speak of different things but tie them together- the decription of Africa and the summit's top is nto only to give setting but to help the reader to understand Harry's dilemma. That sight sounds beautiful to me, so if he's underawed by it, them what was he looking for. What did he need.

I haven't read the whole thing yet, but when I saw the opening lines, I immediately thought "Ahhh!! She's read YSKOV!!! From the style, it seems like Eggers is sorta kinda speaking through you, which is trippy.

off to read, will comment later!
