Mwah ha. The computer is mine once more! Even if I have to get up at 5am on a Sunday to get a turn.
Everyone at home is on vacation, except for me, so there's been little computer time for me. Some interesting things I've come across while catching up.
Murdoch Mysteries has been sold domestically and will air on select PBS stations starting June 30th .Yay! It's a fun show and hey lots of crossover fic potential with Forever Knight. Dr. Julia Odgen is the professional precursor to Dr. Natalie Lambert and of course there's the potential of a historical Forever Knight crossover. Nick is the most likely candidate but that shouldn't stop stories with our other vampires. Also, it's just been picked up for a 3rd season.
Being Erica has begun filming their 2nd season. More yay!
BBC America has announced the premiere date for Being Human. It will premiere on July 25th. I can't wait to check it out.
The full trailer for Torchwood: Children of Earth is up at BBC America. It premieres July 20th.
Vanity Fair has a wonderful pictorial in which actors are given three scenarios and a photograph is taken of them expressing the topic. They're all fantastic but I'm especially fond of John Goodman's, Chloe Sevigny, Whoopi Goldberg, Mariska Hargitay, Ian McShane, Michael Douglas, John Leguizamo, and Hugh Laurie's.
I posted six reviews of Geraint Wyn Davies at geraint_fans of his performance as King Duncan in the Stratford production of MacBeth. Colm Feore plays the title role.
Television Without Pity offers their suggestions on five kids properties to cross to the big screen along with casting recommendations. Summer Glau as She-Ra? Alexander Skarsgård as He-Man, Zeljko Ivanek as Skeletor, Brittany Snow as Brad in Hey Dude, Angelina Jolie as Carmen Sandiego, and Megan Fox, Kristen Stewart, Ellen Page and Avril Lavigne as The Misfits in Jem. Sign me up for all of these but not Summer Glau as She-Ra. She can stay though as any other member of the Rebellion.
Television Without Pity also suggests 13 TV shows that should get a reboot. Reboots both scare and intrigue me. On one hand I'm thinking "Sacriligous!" and the other it's "It's a concept I want to see explored more." Up for consideration are: MacGyver (Hell no! There's only one MacGyver), The Pretender but with a female pretender (Miss Parker rules, everyone else drools.), Golden Girls (Noooooo!), and Quantum Leap (Don't you dare! Hugs Sam and Al).
ChillerTV was having a mini marathon of Polgergeist: The Legacy later episodes last weekend. Forever Knight's Kristin Lehman (Urs) had already joined the cast. Michael Sadowski, a former FK writer and story editor, popped up in the credits. Yeah, the same writer who penned "Last Knight". So that's where he went to after FK went off the air.
I watched the pilot episode of The Listener on NBC, the latest Canadian import. Unfortunately, it was a little on the drab side. Former Forever Knight writing team Phil Bedard and Larry LaLonde are listed as exectuive consultants.
The New York Times has an article about Canadian TV and the current crop of foreign coproductions. Canadian exports The Newsroom (I remember watching it on PBS) and Slings & Arrows (caught up on DVD) are briefly referenced. The former had Lisa Ryder in a recurring role as a ditzy assistant and the later featured Geraint Wyn Davies as a snobbish actor set to take on the lead role in "The Scottish Play".
The Smallville season 8 DVD cover will be Clark and Lois in front of the Daily Planet logo. Very pretty. They did their usual red and blue color scheme on the wardrobe even though it's not what they were wearing. It'll be released August 25th.
Warner Bros. has released the official trailer for Smallville season 8 on DVD and boy is that thing not only NOT advertising season 8 but it's nothing but old school SV. It even has the old WB voice announcer guy and there's only three clips from season 8. One is Lois jokingly asking Clark to marry her, the other is Davis Bloom as Davis, and the last is Davis as Doomsday.
And lastly, I came across the official White House Flickr account. Lots of great photographs.
