[One-shot] Catch Of The Day

Jul 23, 2009 17:43

I finished typing the sequel to Shattered Hearts. Now, my sister has to read it before I post it up. I'll probably post it up after Mistaken Identity. Chapter 1 of Mistaken Identity will be up tomorrow. For now, I'll put up a one-shot that I just finished. I found it cute at the end. And you probably know who is in it.. :P

Catch Of The Day

“Why do you want to go fishing today?” I whined as I placed some fishing gear in my dad’s truck. My dad looked at me and smiled.

“You know fishing is my hobby. Fishing is fun and relaxing.” My dad said to me in a cheery voice. I shook my head.

“I rather be home and chat with my friends on my computer...” I muttered under my breath. My father placed his fishing rod in the trunk. He crossed his arms and said. “You’re going to get blind if you keep going on the computer.” I sighed.

“Fine but I’m going to bring my mp3player with me...” I said and ran to get it. I walked down the stairs and I saw my father starting the car. I locked the door and ran inside the car.

“Ready?” My dad asked me. I nodded and he drove away from our house.

“It has been over an hour and we haven’t caught any fish!” I whined. I was on my dad’s fishing boat feeling bored and seasick.

“Look at that guy. He caught tons of fish. He must have all the luck today!” My dad said and pointed to another boat. I got up to look at the other person. He caught a big fish. I sighed and turned my head to my dad.

“Why don’t we ask him for advice?” My dad looked up at me and shook his head. “I’m more experienced than that kid. Wait a little more and I’ll catch one!” My dad stood up and patted my head. I sighed and popped my earphones in my ear.

“Get the net!” My dad shouted to me. I opened my eyes and I quickly ran over to the other side of the boat. I grabbed the net and put it in the water. My dad put the fish in the net and I lifted the net up. He finally caught a fish but it was small and skinny.

I laughed and tears started to come out of my eyes. “Why are you laughing, Aki-chan?” I waved my head and held onto my stomach. It started to hurt and then I straighten my back.

“ Wait until I tell okaa-san about today. It took you a whole day to catch a little fish. She was expecting you to catch a big fish like that guy..” I said as I wiped my tears away.

My dad crossed his arm and gave me his fishing rod. “Why don’t you try. I bet you’re going to catch the same kind of fish like me.” He smirked. I nodded my head and quickly grabbed his fishing rod out of his hand.
I placed the fishing rod in the water and waited for a few seconds. “Oto-san, something is tugging on the fishing rod!” I shouted to my dad. He came rushing over to me and shouted. “Reel it in!” He kept shouting to me.

I reeled it in and I got a big fish. I laughed and pointed to him. “Ha! Okaa-san is going to be surprised when she’s hears that I caught this fish.” My dad sighed and patted my head. “I knew taking you fishing would be fun.” I blushed and shouted. “Mou!”

My dad laughed and he drove the boat back to the harbor.

“It looks like you caught a big fish today.” I looked up and I saw a tanned man standing in front of me. I got up and nodded my head.

“I didn’t expect to have so much fun fishing with my oto-san.” I smiled and picked up the fishing rod and net from the dock.

“Fishing is fun. Maybe we should fish together.” I smiled at him and said. “Okay.”

I bowed my head to him and then I was curious of his name. “What’s your name?” He was packing up his things, when he looked up at me.

“Ohno Satoshi.” I nodded and smiled. “Miyama Aki. It was nice talking to you.” I shouted back. He nodded his head and waved his hands. I waved back.

I walked to my dad’s truck. “Do you like fishing now?” My dad asked me. I smiled and nodded my head.

“It was exciting! I want to come back again!” My dad grinned at me and shrugged his shoulders. I giggled and I glanced behind me to see Ohno, still waving good-bye to me.
