I'm rather looking forward to going back, actually. I always miss everyone terribly during the holidays, but especially my dearest friends and Puffs. Even though I've seen you all lots, it's not the same as sharing a common room, is it ( Read more... )

ah, Fortescue's, one of the best things about shopping in Diagon Alley!
don't worry about not growing, you still have time. besides, there's nothing wrong with being short!
if you are good at knitting then maybe you can make me a new school scarf? I'm afraid Hermione will be too busy with terrorist activities promoting SPEW and studying.

er, didn't you say your cat was a he? fluffy purple sparkly things might not be the best thing for his manliness, you know. but a frog scarf, that might be alright.

Well. Oh dear, I'm not very good at knitting, really. You might be better off getting someone else, but I'd certainly be happy to try for you! It's just red and gold, isn't it? Mum will probably have some wool I can borrow, and I'll make a start this week if you still want. It might take a while to get it right though, just to let you know.

Actually, Whiskers is very secure in his masculinity, Neville. He's quite the little gentlecat. Why, two summers ago, he even had kittens! I do like the frog scarf best, though. I think he does too, as he looks rather lovely in it.

that's good that he's secure in his masculinity. wait... he had kittens, or his cat girlfriend had kittens?

Well, his little girlfriend had kittens, technically, I suppose! Four of them, each every bit as adorable as my boo.

Oh, lord, I think I may have joined SPEW. Or the other one. Possibly both.

Am I going to be skulking around in black costume and setting explosive charges at research laboratories all term? I suppose I could use the diversion, but I was thinking of something slightly less criminal...

yeah, i think you did join spew at the party. maybe you can appease her by just passing out flyers and wearing pins? (and being nice to the house elves, of course.) just don't get involved in the militant branch and you should be fine.

Well, I'm already nice to the house elves; it always struck me as sheer folly to be rude to the people who make your food.

Pins and flyers sound like a good idea. Though, explosions could be fun...

oh i defiently agree with you on that, but some people would rather be rude and hope there is never any retribution (or uprising).

yeah, i might help out with the pins and flyers a bit, lord knows i can't help knit the hats. and as for the explosions, well i think those should be left to the people who actually can make decent potions! (which we all know is not me).

hey, aren't things going to be a bit...awkward now? how are you going to deal with that?

Yeah, er, that's a good point.

We haven't spoken since the party.

I think I'm going to need a disguise for the train tomorrow...

well, you are always welcome to sit with Ginny, Colin and i, but there's more than a good chance Hermione will show up at some point, so that might not be the best idea.... i'm sure it will all work out though.

Thanks...I'm assuming I'll track down Hannah, Susan, and Eloise tomorrow, and Ernie, whenever he's not off prefecting, but I appreciate it.

I'll have to see her eventually. I just don't want to make her even more uncomfortable, you know? I feel badly enough as it is.

alright, tell them i say hi! (though i'm sure i'll see them soon enough myself)

yeah, i understand. but it's probably not any worse for her than it is for you??

Yeah, I don't know. It may be a different sort of thing for her; with me, it's an awful lot of regret because I've gone and ruined something great and really hurt Pansy. On Hermione's end, well, I wouldn't presume to guess. It probably is just as bad, but for different reasons, and I'm sure she feels awful as well.

All things considered, if I could just hide in a hole in the ground for the next few months, I think it would be better for everyone.

i'm sorry about Pansy.

i guess when really bad things happen you just have to keep going, you know? eventually it won't hurt anymore. at least that's what i think, not that i know what i am talking about. but you are a good guy, Justin, don't forget that.
