Here it comes...

the semi-annual update on Abi's blog.

Spring is really beautiful. Today there were cherryblossompetaldrifts (yes, I made that up) in front of my house, and I picked up a handful and the wind blew them away, and it was so very pretty.

As always, New England's weather can't decide what to do with itself. But, well, what can you do? Cope, no?

My favourite thing to do is sit in a comfortable chair and read a book. Speaking of books, I've been reading this fantastic young adult series (no, really, FANTASTIC): The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins--anyone with some free time and a predilection for YA fiction should all head on over to their nearest bookstore and procure them some HUNGER GAMES!

I also highly enjoy ginger scones. And Porcini salt. And Tomato soup. And of course, cooking.

I don't know how my room always ends up a dire mess every three days or so, but god must certainly will it because it is almost a natural phenomenon now.

I finished a booklength collection of poetry for my thesis. It is statement size (half of a letter size page), double sided and my very own creation. There about 110 "pages" altogether. I've read it and re-read it, edited it and re-edited it, wrote and... well you get the point... suffice to say that I've lost all objective perspective when it comes to evaluating it(titled: Body Sequence) and now all I fear is that it sucks--and that I think it does suck, in fact. Well, too late now.

I've been reading plenty of YA adult novels this semester. Possibly 15 or 18. And I am loving it. This is all, of course, for class. Unbelievable, eh? Well, also in preparation for my future career which I will now unveil:

A high school English Teacher. If all works out. I have been accepted to the Masters of Arts in Teaching and will hopefully become an English teacher by the time I graduate next year. Scary. But so exciting and so wonderful and did I mention SO EXCITING?

So, how are you?
