Hooray! I've finally got a revisited draft of Hiking Boots I am pleased with enough! It has been sooooo long and it's been a block on my mind for such a time! Now it's sunday night/morning (the worst night for staying up late) and I've got a handwritten copy (written on the back of the first) that needs to be typed. Sadly, because it's late I think I've blown my chances at doing JAW West this summer, I think they're serious about the whole deadline thing, being a mark of professionalism. What gets me is that this is the one assignment of mine that has been late, and I think I'm just about the only person who has been on top of it all the way through... I dunno, I haven't talked to them yet (I'm a tad afraid to) and Jane could probably be exagerating their feelings, she has a habit of doing that, but still... I think I've blown it. Oh well. I think I'll submit it to ACTF and see if I can't get it done there next year. Or maybe I'll find another festival or some other outlet of some sort. Dammit Conor, you have been dropping things all over the place this year! Cut it out. Don't put too much on your plate.
Well, this entry isn't helping me type up the piece. I don't generally like typing in the name of each character, although sometimes I like that feeling it gives me of physically writing in another form, reminding me that I'm writing a play, something romantic about that. What I never like is the formatting after a type session in which I have to center and underline the names. Yuck. Does anybody know a short cut to doing that so that I don't have to go through several pages highlighting, styling, formatting and so on and so forth? Part of me likes the whole idea of this final thing, a formality that finishes off the creative aspect, manual labor, something menial... but only after I'm done and only when it's early in the morning and I'm trying to look on the bright side to counteract the onset of a bad sleep deprived mood.
No more rambling for tonight.
