I went to the academic all-stars interview today. It started out really awkward and nervous but the my two interviewers were really cool guys and got me to relax a little (although I was still really wound up and am still kinda unwinding that nervous energy). Eventually it became a discussion about art, life, risks, integrity (although I never said my mantra for fear it might sound fake), not caring and caring, focus, the future. Proved Jane wrong. Anywho I feel like I really connected with them, but I don't think I'll get one of the big winning spots, my interviewing skills were simply not up to snuff. But it was really cool nonetheless, it was one of those moments that reassured me I was on track, like the auditions in January and ACTF. One of the two fellows was also talking about a couple internships and theatre festivals he knows people at and will make some calls to slip me in maybe... bossa nova! (Donathello-ism) So yeah, personal victory, if not a financial one. And while on that subject I'd like to note that at least three of the eight final contestants were Davinci Alumni; Will Brahm and Sam Burns, me being the other one.
Anywho, now I'm working on my math project... EPIC DUELS!!!!! I'm not striking upon quite as much math as I thought I would be, but I'll make it work... or die trying...
Gotta get back to that. I've collected my data, now I've got to put the math in and justify the heck out of it. I have no idea if Mr. Running will approve, but we'll see...
It feels good to be taking a break from plays right now (UP on spring break) but I am definitely looking forward to getting back with them folks again.
I'm done.
