[Now usually she's not one to complain. In fact, she basically never complains.

But today? Today is the exception. On the screen is a very exhausted Cissnei thanks to the poison.]

This must be one of the worst birthdays I've had yet.

final fantasy: cissnei, young avengers: teddy altman, assassin's creed: rebecca crane, durarara!!: izaya orihara

Is it? I've never paid much attention to them, myself. It's just another day, after all.

Might be, yeah. But knowing that you're dying on your birthday isn't what I would consider the best. Ironic, really.

[He was stabbed and left bleeding in the street on his most recent birthday. He only has vague, blurry memories of being in a hospital before he woke up here, in a morgue. It certainly hadn't been the best :|]

Or even poetic ☆ But that's such a pessimistic way of looking at things; you don't know you're going to die, after all. Or have you already given up?

[He sounds cheerful enough perhaps, but he's not feeling particularly healthy himself]

Poison is generally lethal, in my experience. Might be otherwise this time.

[The fact that she feels like death isn't really convincing her that she might live, though.]

Not necessarily. It depends very much on the dosage, and whether or not you receive treatment in time. Besides, it seems unlikely that whatever brought us here would be willing to kill so many of us, all at once. We're most likely here for a reason, after all, even if that reason is little more than a sadistic game.

True enough, on all accounts. [But her job was never to half-poison anyone, now was it?] If it's really a game, then we should get to know about the rules and the players.

We should, but it's clear we're intended to be kept in the dark, at least for the moment. No one told them they were expected to play fair, it seems.

No one's telling us to play fair, either.

You get what you give, so they say.

That's certainly one way of looking at it.

And there are many other ways that I won't mind looking into.
