( moira is vma: very much alarmed. which is understandable, having woken up in a morgue -- and more understandable, having woken up in an empty morgue, in an empty city, and having pinched oneself to ascertain one is not at all dreaming. there was no one within the building to answer her questions or help her, and no one on the street. the stores are deserted, the lights are stubborn and moira, stolen into one to grab a change of clothes, or any clothes, has fiddled in the dark with this device she woke up with, which doesn't look quite like anything from 1962, nor does it look like any recognisable foreign technology. it's only because time has passed and she's familiarised herself with it somewhat -- identified its broadcasting functions and that it's on a shared network which seems to be populated by an uncomfortable amount of civilians, which must know more about what this place is and why she's here than she does -- that she isn't panicked.
when she introduces herself for the first time, her voice is professionally calm and solid. )
My name is Moira MacTaggert. I work for the United States government, and I seem to have found myself here without explanation, as I assume many of you have as well. Information you on the exact whereabouts of this city and what happened here would be extremely valuable. I appreciate any help you can offer.
( and she'd rather like to suss out the location of an arms store from someone more privately. you know. until she can get one registered all legal-like. )
