[ His eyes blink open. And then, a couple more times, because with all this darkness no way they're actually open yet, not when the scenery hadn't changed in the slightest. A chill runs straight up Alex's spine and he shivers, half from the temperature and half from having no freaking clue how he got from walking down the halls in Winchester, NY to a pitch-black, cold room with a nasty draft. He moves to sit up- ]

AH- [ And doesn't get very far, seeing as he's lifted his head all of half a foot before it slams into the ceiling of the freezer, rattling his brain. A hand goes to his head. ] Shit.

[ And instead of flesh to flesh, it's cool plastic to flesh and Alex blinks. W h a t. He gives the plastic box in his hand a squeeze and suddenly- LIGHT EVERYWHERE, UGH. Once he gets over the initial squinting, he gives the little electronic letters and numbers on the screen only a cursory glance before using the new flashlight to look around.

A box.

A metal box.

An oddly coffin like metal box with little bits of frost clinging to the crevices and corners. ]

What the fu-...

[ .....Oh hell no. Yeah, he's not staying here. He whips the light-up plastic thing around, looking for an exit, a weak point, a latch, anything, any way out of here, but happens to notice the paper-thin slip first. And the lack of anything else on his person. ] Oh you've gotta be shitting me. [ But whatever, not the issue right now. He shimmies down towards where it looks like there's a door and starts slamming his feet against it, trying to kick the thing open. ]

[The noise is enough to wake him, being that he's a fairly light sleeper and well... the noises weren't exactly quiet. He sits up immediately, but there is something prohibiting his movement, and any squirming just sends him rolling off the counter and onto the floor with a loud yelp and a THUD.]

[ His eyes snap open, painfully aware of a strange light bearing down on him. In an instant, he regrets it, finds himself blinded by a strange light and one hand lifts, covering the abused eyes as a low noise - a growl - rumbles in his throat. ] Merda... [ He whispers harshly, drawing in a slow breath, suddenly aware of the strange sensation of the air missing from his lungs.

Suddenly, his thoughts are everywhere as his hand lowers, the strange scenery creeping into the edges of his vision and the cold, stale smell burning in his nostrils. At first he doesn't move further, only listens, finds a distant comfort in the silence that surrounds him. And then he's sitting up, eyes sweeping the room carefully and stopping on the table nearest him to examine the tools upon it. He makes a grab for one before he's moving, rolling off the table to land silently on his feet.

And then he hears it, the noise from within the wall. He approaches, slow and careful, a scalpel clutched in his hand, as he listens to the too human sounds from within. His hand reaches out, towards a handle, closing on it to give a sharp tug. Cold fills the air as the drawer slides open and before he can study the source of the sound-

THUD.

He whirls, hand lifted, prepared to attack as the bag hits the floor. ] ..what foolery is this?

[ Somewhere within the onslaught against the freezer door, Alex hears a muffled thud from outside. And then a voice. There were people there. He stopped for just a second, considering that these may not be people he wants to be found by. The thought quickly passes, seeing as he's locked in a little box so cold his fingers and toes are about to go numb. Anything would be better than in here.

He takes a breath and gets ready to bang on the door again, make sure his presence is known, but then there's just... open air. He picks his head up, tries to squirm to the side to look, and then the tray he's on slides, and suddenly - freedom.

Really... confusing freedom. Now that he can actually glance around, it's easy to tell what this is. A morgue. He'd been in a goddamn morgue freezer. There's a lot wrong with that that he doesn't even want to think about right now. Instead, his head whips to the guy who apparently let him out. ]

...Who the hell are you?

[ And a glance down to the bodybag wiggling around. Someone else mistaken for dead. Sitting up on the tray, he just points towards the bag. ] Probably wanna get that.

[Still squirming, Alistair pries at the bag to try to rip at the fabric- however it's a little too thick. He hears the other's voices, so he knows he isn't alone.]

Er... Hello? This isn't funny... A little help?

[ His attention returns to the other in an instant. And for a moment, he says nothing, instead fixes the other with a strange - almost curious, almost - stare. He takes a few seconds to study him for a moment, trying to place a name to a face, to an alliance, but nothing comes to mind. He says nothing, only studies him further before his eyes shift in the direction he's pointing.

At the sound of the voice from the bag, he steps torwards it, turning the scalpel in his hand. He crouches beside the bag, reaching out to grab it - a rough motion in an attempt to still the body inside, though it's enough for Il Lupo himself to realize whoever is inside is hardly a small someone. He shifts carefully to touch one knee to the ground, using the hand he'd grabbed with to push down to keep the material from shifting (and the body inside, in turn), pressing his weight on it. His other hand moves, opts to press the sharp edge of the scalpel in to the plastic, making a quick, clean slice through it - hard enough to break through the material but not enough to break skin it may or may not have touched.

His hand moves from where it had been pressed down, instead moves to help him jerk the bag where he'd cut it to peer down at the body inside. ]

[ While Il Lupo goes about prying (and maybe injuring a tad) whoever's in the bag out, Alex takes a second to hop off the tray. The nudity... is not fun. Mainly more for the cold than anything else. He doesn't mind a couple other dudes seeing him, because, you know, prison showers.

Halfway to meandering over to the table of tools next to the autopsy table, his foot catches on something and he almost trips, grabbing the table for support. He glances down. A tag. ]

Toe tag?

[ Alex almost laughs. What kind of whack-job thought this would be funny? He wasn't even close to dead before getting in here. He unloops it from his foot and holds it up near the light. All the information is right. And most definitely his. Down to even the codename. Which, considering only a very, very small group of people knew that, he wasn't feeling too great about it. Alex peers up to give the other two a side-long, half-suspicious accessing look. If they're mutants, they're not ones he's ever met. But if they were stuck in here with him like corpses, he doesn't think they're the ones to blame for it either. ]

Any of you remember being dead before now?

[The bag is ripped open and Alistair flinches slightly, especially because of the cold air hitting him and the strange man looking down on him. He should be used to this by now, he'd just come from the Underworld. A place that had done these sorts of things to them all the time.

He gawks up at the man who rescued him and forces a cheesy smile.]

My hero.

[ The question earns Il Lupo's attention once more, eyes lifting to study the tag in the other's hand. There's a moment of silence before he shifts to glance at his own toe. He considers reaching for it but instead, his focus settles on bagged man, arches one brow slowly at the smile.

There's no reply as he moves to stand fully, offering his hand to the other - silent and expectant. Finally, he turns his attention back to the man he'd freed earlier, his voice calm as he responds- ]

Clearly.

[ He blinks at Il Lupo for a second. That... was mostly sarcastic. Seriously? You were dead? ]

Really?

[ And then, whatever, okay, Alex was most definitely not dead. He's been wandering around Westchester, survived Cuba and everything. Unless it was a sudden freak accident that killed him instantly, there's no way he'd been actually dead. ]

Well I wasn't. [ And now he's exploring some more. Freezers, body bag, scalpels. Everything screamed morgue. Even the lettering on the room's door read 'Abax Memorial Hospital Morgue". He glances down at the tag again, reading the cheery "WELCOME TO ABAX" plastered to the bottom of it. ] 'Abax?' Never heard of it.

[Alistair takes this time to reach down and inspect his own toe-tag. He frowns at the name that Alex says out loud.]

Neither have I...

[He shivers.]

And they took my things...

[ He reaches for his own toe tag, lets his eyes sweep the surface. His eyes linger on the name before settling on the message on the bottom with a look of irritation. ]

Who brought us here?

[doomhoops]

[ He squints at Alistair a bit like he might be thinking he's an idiot ]

You're not the only one.

[ He shook his head before crossing his arms and plopping down in what would be the mortician's chair, if said mortician existed. ]

I just came out of a damn freezer, how should I know?

A what?

[He stands, pulling the body bag up with him. Hey, it offered some warmth, just not much.

He grew silent for a moment, thinking. Before he woke up here he had been at his home in the Underworld, another place he had been trapped. He wouldn't put it past the gods of the Underworld to stick him in a plastic bag in some weird building.]

This isn't the first time something strange has happened. It could be the gods messing with us...

A what? [ He echoes, turning to glance at Alex, waiting for an answer. But the glance doesn't last long, turns instead to Alistair as he speaks. ]

You have experienced this before?

[doomhoops]

[ Eyebrows raaaised ] Freezer? The morgue freezer? Really cold? Keeps bodies fresh? [ Pointing towards where he just came out of. Seriously, what is wrong with you people? Europeans must not have refrigerators or something :|

But wait, what. Gods? You've got to be shitting him... ]
