[Someone’s cell phone, device feed, whatever turns on, upside down and turned outwards so its hard to tell who’s contacting the network. Instead, it shows a feed of the inside of the Abax Central Station and the sound of rapidly approaching trains can be heard

Ah... thank you, my friend. I will certainly have to go take a look, there was some change of clothes where I am now, but nothing to my tastes.
[Retro. Psh.]
Have you found a place to stay for the moment?

Just had to dig past all the denim. Honestly, why blue jeans are so popular I do not...
[He trails off as a train can be heard coming louder and if Charles is still in any sort of contact, he's not going to like the backlash. The train passes and with it the urge to run back up the stairs and he exhales as breath, swallowing down the desire to vomit.]
I go back to the hospital when I need a shower.

Whatever is going on where you are, you shouldn't stay there. Not alone. If you need a place to say you should come stay with us, or even in the surrounding area.
There is running water, though you won't be able to get any warm or hot water, which I'm sure you've found out from the hospital already. A bit nicer with company too, yes?

I'm down in the underground ... the trains. [He begins, before simply ghosting back the mental clarity of what he's been experiencing. The ebb and flow of that horrible, mind shattering presence from that first night. How he's grown to at least understand it's connection to the flow of the trains.]
It doesn't like to be poked, however, I don't suggest you try it.
[He goes quiet at the offer but then shakes his head.]
The others in your group get agitated when they look at me and I'm not you. They expect your words out of my mouth and it makes them uncomfortable when those don't come.
[Uncomfortable and their thoughts became hard to bear, the knowledge that in these small ways, he was letting them down, disappointing them. Just like Sharon.]
Not welcome, just like Marko.
I think it's best if I keep to myself.

I apologize... it's the situation, Charles. We're all on edge and confused, they, along with myself, don't understand how this is possible. But you don't make me uncomfortable at all, really you're quite fascinating. And while you're technically me by looks and feel, you're your own man when it comes down to it.
They'll understand eventually, for now I'm sorry it causes you discomfort.
[The bit about Marko has his eyes looking away, feeling guilty. Charles shouldn't have to feel that again.]
If you ever need company I don't mind talking to myself at all. Don't feel like you have to seclude yourself completely.

I’d shield you but we both know I can’t. [He said apologetically.] You’re going to have to block me yourself, my friend.
[Which was both apology and also stubborn insistence that he wasn’t yet ready to leave, despite the pain and the fear. This was too damn fascinating to him and in a way … comforting.
Despite his suggestion for Charles to shield, he lifted his fingers against his temple and focused his thought back towards himself in the unspoken hope that the presence wouldn’t take it as another invasion.]
At some level, I understand what you’re saying about your people, Charles but right now it is every thing I can do …
[He trailed off, shying away from the words. Instead, he sent across the feelings, the terror that came with being painfully aware that a thin string supports you from utter madness. The thought comes with the weighted knowledge that Charles is aware of what his mind is ( ... )

[And really Charles doesn't need to apologize, he understands to some degree. It was difficult when curiosity got the better of one's self.
And Charles will look away a little, at the bits of memories, feelings of things his other self has had to go through. He feels terrible, that another had had to deal with Marko, had had to deal with his son in turn, or he was sure he did. He had no doubt that the woman his mother slowly became after the death of his father was in there as well. I can't say I ever had that issue with a tutor... but when I was younger I did manage to make a good deal of maids think they were hearing things, not on purpose mind you. Thankfully getting a better grip on his powers had stopped that. They stopped losing maids after that.]
It's not you that distresses them, my friend, it's just the situation. What's going on. Your presence only confuses them, they' ( ... )

Still...]
I'll consider it, my friend. [He says and the sincerity is there in his mental touch, he will consider it at least until Erik's douchebaggery gets the better of him.
As for the rest, Charles gives a wry mental chuff.]
You forget, unshielded telepath. I felt the hatred that was in Alex's mind when I didn't prove to be you. I've felt what is in Erik's mind. It is very much me and the idea of those like me. Do not fool yourself, they need your support too keenly for that.
As for drinking ... Dear God what I wouldn't give for a bottle of scotch and a glass. If you happen to find such, by all means, do give me a nudge?

[And Charles is glad for at least that much. And while he wishes that Charles was wrong... he is speaking the truth, which is really a shame.]
The children will warm up to you, Erik... Erik I will work on. He's not very trusting as it is, your likeness to me is disturbing for him, it... reminds him of things he'd rather not be reminded of. But it's not your fault. I just need to make him understand this.
But on a lighter note, yes. If I find anything decent I will be sure to ask you to join me.

[He goes quiet then, as if caught between saying more and leaving well enough alone. He goes with the latter for the moment, though he does not hold out much hope on the subject.]
Likewise. The least this place can offer is a decent bottle of scotch.]
