or at least, it's conducted like a conversation; the pauses, the replies, all of it sounds as if there ought to be more than one person speaking. oddly, though, the only voice(s) that can be heard are the same. one would assume that the conversation is between oneself, only one voice seems to be quieter than the other, and slightly further away from the phone. ]

[ there's a pause. muttering can be heard in the background - the words 'dead' and 'cancer' are the most audible. ] You do not have cancer, and we are not dead.
