In the grand scheme of things, it might not have been his best laid plan. The old saying was 'strength in numbers' and Kurt and Christine had at been that; numbers. Their minds had been soothing against the unknown distorted muffled in his head but even that strange comfort hadn't been enough to keep him from solitary instincts a life time in the making.

When their backs had been turned, he'd quietly shielded his presence and simply slipped away from them. Down an unknown corridor, though one corridor was unknown as much as the next and up the next, he turned through this door and along that empty room until a set of doors hissed open in front of him and he found himself tumbling out of the confines of the hospital and into pitch black night.

As the doors to the hospital shut behind him, Charles wince because never in his entire life had it ever been this damn still in his head. It was like wearing mufflers at a cocktail party, he could feel the voices but they were all garbled and he still couldn't find RAVEN?!?

The mental stillness drove physical restlessness and rather than turning back towards the hospital Charles went forward, casting a mental net further and further outwards, without his true awareness of doing such a thing. Logic dictated, hell logical practically BELLOWED that he should turn around and go back to the hospital, that he go back to the two people he'd woken up with and try to work out what was happening.

His psychic reach was a wild thing, like a blind man lost in a room and trying to feel for the walls. The empty city echoing back to him in a way that just cemented the feeling of utter wrongness in his gut and his mounting disquiet projected outwards along the same net as his telepathic searching. Everything about this place was conflicting as his mind vacillated between the ideas of being dead, yet there was little doubt that he was, truly, still alive.

Raven?!? He called again, hopelessly aware that she wasn't there before lifting his hands up to his head and rubbing them through his hair in a gesture he hadn't allowed himself since he was a child. As he slapped them back down to his hips, trying to push them into pockets that weren't there, a flash of something caught his eye and he spun around nearly tipping himself over as he looked up and across.

Light. He saw light and a quick focus of his mind confirmed that the hospital lay to his left, while this light came from somewhere just ahead and to the right of him.

He should go back to the hospital. Back to the people he woke up with and the muffled, odd voices it was the logical thing to do. He even managed to make his body take a step back before shaking his head and turning right, eyes flicking up towards the light he saw in the distance as he jogged further from the dubious comfort of the hospital and towards the glow he could see in the distance.

[ooc: Open for any and all. He's headed towards the Clock Tower, feel free to intercept him at any point along his route!]
