A Day in the Life

Today was just a day like any other. Rogue woke up a little after dawn, cleaned up around what had slowly become some semblance of an apartment, stared at her communicator for awhile, and before midday, had a meal of jelly, bread, a half of a can of green beans, and a slice of cheese.
It'd been over a month in this hell hole. At least there was food though. Marie had almost forgotten what it was like to scavenge. Days of living in the Mansion had made her forget what it was like to want. However that didn't mean she'd become complacent. Since the tree had appeared she'd been even more on edge. It was bad enough dealing with personal issues here let alone everything that was being thrown at them.
Which was why she'd come to being more fervent about making the rounds through the city, well the part that was open. She'd walk the streets to the boundaries, end up back at the boundary, then check a few places for food. Today was a bit different though. With all this talk about shadows, she wanted to check out the train station. Besides what better place was there for a runaway?
Marie, now stripped of her powers, hadn't really sensed much, but being someone who was used to foreboding things in her head, she wanted to see if the only other place that had that feeling was different. So there she sat at the end of the platform, looking at the metallic objects zoom by and wondering if there was a whole world out there just like the city.
