wanderin' the streets of d.c.

Mar 23, 2005 21:11

last night my dad decided that it would be a good idea for me to get a feel for the city i've bee living near my whole life. so he drops me off at union station at 9 this morning. i wandered into the east wing of the national gallery where there was an exibit by toulouse-lautrec, you know the "tournez au chat noir" painter. quite good. flocks of public school kids distracted my enjoyment of his eerie post-impressionist stylings. i wandered to the downstairs exibets to escape the throngs and was met with some . . . interesting paintings. they inspired me to do

so i decided that i'd take some odd pics of my interpretations on these works:

that one was an imitation of rothko if anyone knows who he is

i call that one "metro wall covered in ingeneous colored quadrilaterals"

this was a study in the curvature of the metro ceiling

so essensially that's how my day was spent. i met my dad for lunch in penn quarter and we tried to get into the spy museum but couldnt. i then tried to explain the O.C. to my dad's girlfriend.
