I hate people in America.
I HATE THEM.
I don't understand how people could have the greed they possess to turn this country into the money-obsessed, obese, ignorant assholes that surround our corporations today.
I see all this disgusting food on shelves that people don't need to eat. I'm sure many of the foods go bad anyway. Drinks with 70 grams of sugar? Veggie sandwiches with 140 grams of fat? A small bar of chocolate with enough trans fat to eventually kill you? WHO NEEDS THIS STUFF? Instead of trying to fight obesity, companies just want to make money off of stupid people who buy that shit because they don't understand how to look at the calorie intake at the back. And how much are the CEO of the companies making? Hundreds of thousands a year? Why don't you do something good for the world and ship off some of your shit products to a third world country that needs them more than the fatasses we have living here? At least they NEED the excessive calories! And I bet most people don't know that popcorn costs about 25 cents to make. So why are they selling it at movie theatres for 6 bucks? Who is getting all this profit?! Certainly not the workers making minimum wage!
I just don't see how any more advances in technology could help our country without stopping making things such as the fucking iPad and investing money in helping educate people in how to make themselves healthy and not get fucked over by scams, politics, etc. (On that note, who needs an iPad? When I think of the name alone, it sounds like technology for girls on their period. Oh look, a huge box that is EXACTLY like a laptop but doesn't have a keyboard, or EXACTLY like the iPhone but a lot more obnoxious to carry around. WHY do Americans need this? WHAT is its purpose??)
Ok, so education. Speaking of. Why doesn't our country have an educational course for parenting? Not only do corporations sell absolute shit, but people are retarded enough to buy it! WHY in the world would somebody buy soda when they can't afford rent? WHY would parents take their children to McDonalds instead of cooking them a home meal? I know their is the issue of 'not enough time' but it takes 5 minutes to put some chicken in the oven with some spices and maybe tomatoes on the top... go do shit and take it out 30 minutes later. And if you really don't have enough time to do that, then you need to cut out some things in your life. I know being a parent is an extremely difficult thing to do, and I can't speak from experience, but after hearing stories from my sociology and child psychology classes, you won't believe the retardation in parenting skills today. If there was a parenting class today, many parents would fail these simple rules that would need to be taught;
1. Do not do drugs in front of your kids.
2. Do not hit your kid.
3. Know where your kid is for at least SOME of the time if they are not with you.
4. Nutrition is important in a growing child.
5. Giving kids what they want after they throw a tantrum is BAD.
It's so frustrating to sit back and watch the future of America steadily decline, and not be able to do a thing about it. One day I will be able to, but right now I can't. I wish that people's minds didn't revolve around money.
I wish that companies cared about the nutritional levels in their food more than making themselves a profit.
I wish we could send all the food not being ate up right away in our supermarkets to poor families.
And furthermore, to third world countries.
I wish parents knew how to be good parents so their kids could have a chance at being normal.
I wish people would educate themselves if their school system fails them on the basics of life, such as how to cook decent meals, how to save money, and would stop paying for fucking cable television and start putting money aside for their kids college.
I wish our country wasn't obsessed with the latest technology, and instead of spending money on things like the iPad, donate it to good causes.
I wish I could do something about all of it...
