alright, here's what i think...
1) copeland's emily dickinson songs are a man's poor attempt at setting trite music to a woman's amazingly quirky and real poems. hoiby does a MUCH better job at this, and most other things musical as well.
2) if i hear a song about someone going of to war and it's filled w/dread and sadness, i'm not particularly moved. this is not profound, and it does not blow my mind.
3) i will NOT practice more than 15 minutes prior to the beginning of the torture known as conducting. reasons: a. i'll feel better knowing i pulled it off...in comparison w/working fairly hard and then suckin it up. b. if shellie and caleb can do it, so can i! c. this class isn't really about conducting anyway. it's about becoming a robot and trying not to laugh at everyone else.
4) i really think there IS some sort of old-timey phrase having to do w/rubbing two nickles together; i just can't remember it....if i had two nickles to rub together...i'm so poor, i don't even have two nickles to rub together...something like that.
5) i hope i didn't burn my house down by leaving the crock pot on high. and damnit to hell if that pork loin isn't finished!
