so.. here I was complaining about being deathly bored in France. Actually, I believe those were my exact thoughts the moment the teacher told me to get outside and not mind the policemen.
There was a hostage situation at my high school. An old teacher at Charles Cros, which is actually a different lycée but is situated on the same campus as mine, Colbert de Torcy, came back after he had been fired a few years ago. He had a gun that turned out to be fake, I think, and held a classroom of 20 kids and a few teachers hostage on the second floor while everyone else evacuated. He demanded to speak with François Fillon, the old mayor of Sablé and current deputé in some part of the government who was in London. We thought we heard his helicopter fly overhead.
It was fairly uneventful for me personally, because I just left school with Josefin Gäfvert, like we always do; but in looking back on it especially through the perspective that reading international news articles on it gives, it was probably the biggest 'event' that's happened to me.
I'm still smiling thinly at how bizarre this is. And kind of looking from side to side. .. oh France..
