Brown vs. Blue, the Eternal Debate

Rose shifted, embarrassed, and rolled her eyes.  “I’m not answering that,” she said.  She was uncomfortably aware of everyone’s eyes turned in her direction.

“But Rose,” said Jack roguishly, “enquiring minds want to know.”  He winked at her.

“You don’t actually think this is important, do you?” asked Rose, exasperated.  She glared at the two versions of the Doctor standing in front of her.

“Oh, come on then, everyone else has weighed in,” the Doctor-in-Brown complained.   “Which one do you like better?  The blue or the brown?  It’s the brown, right?” he said, gesturing to his suit jacket.   “Can’t deny the classics and all?”

“I’ve got two words for you,” interrupted the other Doctor.  “TARDIS blue, Rose.  TARDIS blue.”  He shouldn’t have been able to make those words sound both incredibly important and ridiculously sexy, but he managed it anyhow.
Rose fidgeted and bit her lip.  With the two versions of the Doctor standing in front of her, (not to mention, everyone else in the room watching), she felt like, whatever her answer, it was going to seem horribly significant.  She didn’t know what she was going to do about the fact that there were two different Doctors, but she didn’t want to make the choice here and now.

They were still waiting.  Fine, you want an answer, Rose thought with a little smile.  I’ll give you an answer.

“Hmm,” she said, thoughtfully, looking each of them up and down.  She reached into the front pocket of her jacket and pulled out her emergency sugar ration, the one she kept to ward off the post-Dimension-Cannon-jump shakes.

It was a red lollipop.

“Well,” she mused, tugging the wrapper off.  “Since you really, really want to know…”  She put the lollipop in her mouth and sucked on it, considering them both.  She had the pleasure of watching both of their eyes glaze over, just a little bit.

Rose took few steps closer to them.  “Given the choice,” she said, running a finger over the fabric of one suit jacket, and then the other.  “I’d really have to say that I prefer…”

“Yes?” they both whispered in tandem, leaning closer to her.

She gave a wicked smile.  “Leather.”

Needless to say, they were not amused.  But she thought Jack, at least, seemed to appreciate her answer.
