YAY! This past week about killed me. Teaching a 2-year-old daycare class plus 40 hours at Starbucks has just been exhausting. Today, though, has been a good day so far. I decided not to screw up my schedule by staying up all night, and so was up by nine. In my kick to get rid of the weight I've gained since I got home, I did two work-out videos and ate 2/3 a bowl of low-fat oatmeal for breakfast. After the workout videos, I balanced my check book and savings account, paid some bills, and got my library books together --I'll drop those off and the bills in the mail on my way to work. Made a super-low-calorie egg salad that will give me lunch/dinner for several meals and had that for lunch with an apple. I'm drinking lots of tea and water. My rule for work is nothing but teas today. I may be able to lighten that up later on, but for now, it's better to go cold turkey, you know? I've started keeping my diet/fitness journal again, which I know for a fact helps a TON. It forces you to realize how much you're eating.
I go into work at 4:30 and close --which means I'll get home 12:30, 1. Yucky. It's me, Heather, and Rob, though, which will be good. And Kacy, I think, which could be kind of unfortunate. I miss us being such good, relaxed friends. She's been very different lately and it makes me worried something is going on outside of work for her, but it could be nothing more than her thinking I'm the one who stole her iPod. Why would I steal an iPod?
Yesterday at work, a group of Mexicans asked if they could buy me. The funny part is that it is probably the fifth or sixth time in my life that I've been asked if I'm available for purchase --in less eloquent words than those. I don't understand it. There are definitely hotter girls than me that don't get asked that. I suppose I'm just cute enough to inspire the comments but not hot enough to intimidate the pervs into silence.
There was also a cat killed at work. Unrelated to the Mexicans. Dave (a regular who is up there probably four or five times a week, sometimes with his cutie little daughter Anna) took care of it since it was all us girls working. Someone hit a cat in the parking lot, and it wasn't entirely dead, but all the damn birds attacked it and picked at it until it died. It was really disgusting. I didn't see it, but Heather said it was all flopping around until it finally just lost too much blood and all its stomach guts had come out onto the pavement. Isn't that terrible?!? We called animal control, but they wouldn't come out because it wasn't blocking a roadway (it was in the middle of the parking lot . . .) so Dave got it into a trash bag and threw it into the dumpster. It was horrible, though. What a hideous way for a poor cat to die. If thinking that way makes me a cat lady, then Jonah's right, and I'm proud of it.
I can't think of anything else, really. I'm going to go drink my green tea and take a shower and tackle some things on my to-do list until work. Do I need a nap? I can't tell yet.
To do list: go to the credit union, drop off library books, pay American Express bill, get last hep-shot, list stuff on e-bay, update Phantom Reality (Adsum first), finish up the graphic requests, finish planning Ireland, tidy house before parents get home tomorrow, work, make/post graphics on bf.net, study French/German/ASL, enter photo contests . . . and I believe that is all that's on my list at the moment.
By the way, have I mentioned that my new camera is phenomenal? My daily shots on flickr.com and the shots I took at VBS have taken a sudden turn for the better. It's amazing how the quality of the camera can improve the shot simply by its existence.
